2021 Spring Exhibition > Taylor Briddell

When I feel inspired by things I see, hear, or when I’m listening to music, I tend to make art. Art has always been my creative outlet and way to express myself in a way that other outlets cannot. It was also always my favorite class in school. It seems to come very naturally for me. Creating an image onto paper or canvas is relaxing and therapeutic for me. I use a variety of my interests that make me happy and are often times very related to me in some way. My work can range from simple to detailed, from small scale to larger scales. My favorites include ceramics and simple drawings of photographs with a mix of watercolor and/or paint. As of late, I tend to enjoy making portraits of my favorite or just well known musicians. I also like to feature a lot nature and animals in my work. I enjoy the freedom of creativity and being able to make art into my own expressions. I am hoping to branch out more and become more comfortable with using more mediums or subject matters.

Seeing a work of mine that I feel proud of fills my heart. I am always trying to work and improve on my artistic skills to better myself for future projects and career. I do not know where art will lead me, but I am on board to follow and see what happens.
