Photography allows viewers to connect with landscapes they might never see in person. This impact provides the chance for involvement in environmental conservation. Even though I am color blind, I found a passion in capturing what kind of true beauty is around us. I am a documentarian that emphasizes the captivating land using black and white imagery. Using my camera as another set of eyes, I capture and celebrate the narrative of our environment. I intend to pull people out of their daily routines to experience perspectives that go unseen. Photography speaks without words, which is what I intend to do. I want to showcase the beauty that surrounds us to bring forward the issues in our environment.
Ever since I can remember, I was intrigued by nature. I got a chance to view the world with intuitive eyes. Although we might not see it, nature provides compelling patterns, light, and shapes. From towering trees to rushing water, the simplest things hold dynamic beauty, but do we take time to appreciate what we have? We can encourage observation, inquisitiveness, expectations, and a chance for promise in the making through photography. I take my camera into various environments, close my eyes and breathe, giving my mind a chance to be free. Once that happens, I can create authentic compositions. My work celebrates the experience of what is truly around us. With a curiosity of the world, I capture these images with confidence that audiences will hear the call our home is asking for. We should not take what was given for granted.
